When you see errors in SM50, where can you go to further analyze the problem?
The answer is: Developer traces.
Developer traces will help you identify most problems of the system concerning rfc, s.o, dispatcher, workprocess, database and so on. To view the developer traces you can go to transaction ST11 which will take you to the server’s directory containing all files that you may want to take a look at. For example, if I want to investigate problems in the workprocess, I can open the dev_w0 trace for instance.

It is also possible to download the trace files to your PC running the program RSMON000_DOWNLOAD_TRACES at SA38.
